mOVING...

Setting up reactors was done in our new lab...
we were supposed to move to our new lab in June but now its September...
surprisingly, we were still in the old building..so I have trouble in the morning where I was supposed to take sample which is 25L, transfer it to the new lab., when finish, go to the old lab....waaa..that makes me feel so damn tired in the afternoon..
no mood to do anything...

after sampling of about 25L of wastewater, it was then transferred into the reactor and we were supposed to wait until it is full and then only shut the valve...it took about half day to do that...

sometimes, i got some help from sis, but only weekends...
from nik n now from lina...
luckily i have them...tired to do it alone!

pics below shows our wastewater sample, pushed by my sis and me..! we sometimes take turns to sample and push the trolley as it is 25L...oh man!
now i realized that i have muscles too! hahaha








After heading to Proton to take wastewater sample...
Then we go to Perodua Rawang...as usual...
call them, write letter to seek for permission...
sign here n there..set date n discuss with Prof...
everything is fine n there we go..its last semester...
went there with Tay, Liew and Nik...

we arrive there earlier than the appointment time..the meeting was supposed to be at 2pm...nvr mind...we brought with us sample bottle, marker and ice box...

to enter perodua, its a bit leceh..because their security is very strict...
so i gave them the letter n they request us to call the person in charge to guide us to the treatment plant...i called him..en Sahrin, he said to the guard "She knows where it is, she is our ex-trainee" ...
then we r allowed to enter with me as the so-called tourist guide..hahahaha
nasib i tak lupe the way...

arrived, n have a short meeting on what exactly my project..
i have prepared handouts and explain a little bit to them with the help of Liew and Tay....it run smoothly..thanks to them...worried at first but its good that its not a serious discussion...

Then, we went to the treatment plant & take some samples...
Perodua people were very helpful..thanks to them...
they were approachable and would really like to invite us again for this kind of discussion, meeting to discuss on their matters..(regarding the treatment plant lahh)..

but the very best part of it..i had a chance to meet my old friends...
they were very shocked...n asked me a lot of questions...
have to answer it all...met nuar, fizan, lan, wahid, fadzli....n many more...
luckily they still remember me..its been 3 years since i last met them...

i will go to Perodua again next year! YAHOO!
so besides sampling, i got a chance to c them again!

its me again (off course, coz it my blog) hahaha...
im going to go to WWTP...but a little bit late today, maybe 9 something...
coz uitm is still offically closed due to Raya Holiday...
n its so damn quiet there...n scary tooo! but like always, i have to take care of my anak2 n cucu cicit...haha

its my biofilm....im going to analyze as soon as possible, so need to make sure it is in good condition before i can scrap it out and do some molecular techniques for the identification of it...i need to know what species of microoganisms present in the biofilm-bulkwater system..

i have to make sure that the condition for the biofilm to grow is totally anaerobic condition...which means that, no oxygen should be in the reactor...because the main aim is to produce sulphide...hopefully everythings is gonna be fine..ive been doing this for over 5 months already...n im still doing it....

*for those who dont know what is biofilm all about.....
actually biofilm is a consortium of bacteria...
there are many species of it in the biofilm...
bacteria tends to form biofilm when the condition favors them, in terms of nutrient availability, temperature n many more...
they prefer biofilm condition because, they really need each other..
we can just describe like: its like full of different people in one community...

so in this pic, the biofilm is the one blackish in color on the cover...the one in the reactor is actually attached to the Bioblocks...
the bioblocks is the materials placed that acts at the support material for the bacteria to attached to...u guys can see it clearly on the cover of the reactor..

Visiting proton..

Ive looked into what i want, n finally we have decided to use automotive wastewater as the effluent intended to be treated...n we have wrote letter to proton and try to ask them for a visit..finally, they approved..
Im going with Tay n Liew, my colleague..
so we brought ice box, sample bottle....
So we take the influent, before being treated..basically just wan to know what are the heavy metals present in their effluent...so that we can treat it...here are some pics of it...nice visit!

back again..

back again..i really need to spend more time to write on this blog..cause ive read that by writing, i can express whatever feelings ! waaaaaaaa........
research again....make me feel so tensed...
but again, this is the path that ive chosen...here is some of the picture when i go n take sample...not so far...its only in Mawar, UiTM Shah Alam.

bukan semua orang faham maksud global warming, kepupusan hutan, flora n fauna...
tapi masa amat membataskan setiap perkara yg saya betul2 teringin nak lakukan..
rushing here n there...well...to be continued...need to finish up my work...
