Hmm....Ive been asked regarding solubility product during my presentation at the ICCE..I know what it is, its just that Im not prepared for the answer..what a shame...huhu

Well, generally known as Ksp=[Ni][S]...for my case, its nickel sulphide...i need to know the value..

Currently still reading and trying to understand it lah..give me some time to read it okay...

Huuuuu...not easy...n i have to admit, Im now starting to love chemistry, once i open n read my chemistry book, i found so many things that interest me and explanation on what are the causes of u know like, sinkholes n all that...INTERESTING!

Great experience

ICCE, what a great experience..I get to know people from all over the world.

From Pakistan, Assam, India, Bandung, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, ...

We do share some thoughts and exchange ideas, talk about the culture, everything was just so great..Im beginning to love my life now...Really do...

Talk about Malaysia, how great our multi-racial, places to visit and many more...

Hope Ill get a chance to attend conference again..I hope so, Ill grab the chance...

Happiness

Ive been hearing the word of "congratulations" for the past few days...I presented at the ICCE Port Dickson and there is one Indian Professor love what Im doing and she told me "Its a good work, havent heard of it before, what u r doing is good"

So Ive sms prof regarding that, to show that nobody knows about our project, which is good, unique and novel enough for my PhD work...

He then replied "Congratulations, the DANA-VCSP proposal is also good..waaaa...Im so damn happy!!!!

Another good news that he told me, there is a journal that is interested with our project n paper and would like to publish if the ICCE dont want to publish it..its the Journal of Materials Science & Engineering USA...LOVE IT. I smile as i read the sms n even more happier once i read the email prof have forwarded....!!

Indah Water

We have sent letter to Indah Water for the last two weeks, requesting to takes samples at their plant..

Ive called them yesterday, n finally Indah water approved our request and we can start to take samples from their wastewater treatment plant starting next week..

which also means, I will not have so much time to spend in front of my computer anymore...waa...

its gonna b a very bz week and weekends too till i finsih it all by December!!!

Famous Thai, Plaza Masalam

Morning people...

We had our family dinner last night at Famous Thai, went there my 2 of my dad'd friend and Uncle Kamali n his wife...Dad promise me to give his tablet PC, so i got it last nite..Its only HUAWEI but android software which to me, its was way of okay already..I dont actually know what I want to do with it. Ive already have a phone and laptop, the function was similar to phone and laptop..Its just convenient rather than u take your laptop all the way lah..

Back to our menu, we ate meat, fried fish, beancurd, kerabu mangga, tomyam..

ITEX 2011

Pics all the way to ITEX 2011...Im with Nik, we took the komuter from Pdg Jawa till KL central. From there we took the LRT to KLCC. Event held at KL Convention Centre...Its all about the invention of almost anything...Im so tired, all the way from shah alam...waaa.....dont want to take public transport anymore...

What i ate for dinner, treating myself after all the hadrwork..cewahhhh

Im so not in the mood...huh...Ive got another additional work to do...You know the Dana thing, the grant that we have finally submitted last friday...We need to re-edit it back into new form and edit few things to fulfill the agenda and all that..Ive received email from prof at about 2pm stating on what should we do next...He send the new application form together with the guideline.

Well, have read it and currently Im preparing the proposal again but stuck somewhere...No idea, need to go home and discuss with mom..Must send it back to Prof Friday morning coz I wanna go to the ITEX convention at KL convention centre.. VCSP project stands for UiTM Excellence Fund for Vice Chancellor Special Project with max budget of RM25k. Tired la but I need money, source of funding for my research...chiow..

Bought new Canon printer

Today I went to PAS, plaza alam sentral with nik. I want to buy new printer, since the old one, spoiled already. Sayang, I used that one for more than 2 years already, the roller yg rosak..so frustrated...

After our survey that day, I know which shop actually sell printer Canon 3 in 1 with the lowest price..

1st shop: RM 220

2nd shop: RM 185

3rd: RM 169...

so finally i bought at the 3rd shop, cost me only 169, plus i also bought 1 combo pack of cartridge which cost me about rm108. Went to another shop at level 4 to buy pendrive, only rm35 for 8GB, sonic gear speaker (RM 18.90) and 10pcs of cdr which is only rm8..Overall expenditure for today is.......RM 338.90.. bankrupt la after this..huhu

Nickel Sulphide precipitation

Basically, today I am just sitting in my office. Spending the whole day just to figure out how to actually calculate metals, sulphide and etc..I found it very difficult for me to figure it out..Im not that good, but I need to think and think harder...

Its basically the reaction of sulphide with metals, since the word "undergrad" appears...I cant do my work properly, heheh just giving excuses...

I have biofim reactor, precipitation reactor and automotive wastewater..So i need to calculate whatever that enters into the precipitation reactor from both; biofilm and automotive reactors...

I have sulphur compounds, nitrate and phosphate entering precipitation reactor from the left side. And I also have nickel coming from the right side...can u guys imagine? well, biofilm reactor is on the left and automotive reactor is on the right..

Both solutions enters the precipitation reactor simultaneously. Done with calculating what enters and what not..The most difficult part was balancing the chemical equation, what u know, what u assume & what so ever...huhu Not only that, I need to calculate what happens inside the reactor till the experiment finish..weeee...feels like crying/laughing...u choose...! hehe

Till now, i dont know what should i do next but at least i already have the clearer view of it..well, lets try again and this time think harder...gd luck sheryna!

Whats with this? huhu..Its totally new to me and it will definitely takes quite a long time for me to really get to know it..I mean the sequencing and all that...Well, Im now in a learning process, hope I canunderstand it fast and well...I dont have much time left for me to loiter around..

I was in my office today, planning to finish up reading on molecular techniques. Im going to meet my co-supervisor again, but this time its in Shah Alam (18/may/2011, wednesday). I need to prepare something. As for last discussion, we have agreed to use the primers listed by several researchers, Muyzer, Daly and Dar...I thought just by looking at the list of primers, it would just be enough.

I was wrong, totally wrong..I was supposed to know the full sequence of it before I can order..Waaa..a bit shocked, luckily Ida told me (one of my friend in Puncak, she is the one who teach me on the molecular techniques). Example of one of the sequence for the SRB primer: 5'-CGCCCGCCGCGCGCGG CCTACGGGAGGCAGCAG-3’. Looks weird to me..

Ive constructed a table for sequence and primers...Will show it to my co-supervisor later on wed. But im still waiting for 1 more journal paper that I couldnt find, im asking it from my friend in Aussie to look for it...Hope he will get it..

Meeting with co-superivsor

I have a short discussion with Dr. Kala at Puncak Alam for the last 2 days. Dr Kala is my co-supervisor for my research. She mainly guide me on molecular techniques; DNA extraction, PCR, DGGE, Phylogenetic tree....etc...

I went there on Thursdsay, basically to discuss on Primers. Ive constructed a table which i list out the microorganisms identified together with the primers. At 1st, i dont actually understand what im looking for in those journals with the molecular techniques but after a the discussion with her.. Now only I know there are PCR and real time PCR. I have to read a lot, more and more on topic. I now know what kind of primers that I have to look for and etc...Well, at least Ive learnt somethinG.

Meeting on friday was also mainly discussing on primers. Finally we already have a list of primers to check on..Need to check on the price 1st...

Meeting with supervisor

Okay, i met prof last week..on saturday, schedule to be at 3pm but he bring it earlier which is at 11am...went there with nik, wanted to show him:

1. the list of parameter to be analyzed in my experiment
2. chapter 2 (only 8 pages)
3. chapter 1 (the corrected version, supposed version 6 already)
4. some results on the metal-sulphide precipitation

Interesting part is he said something like, "This is not what i want, u r giving me results like what undergraduates is giving" n i was like "OUCH" feeling so heartache...damn!

Am i that bad? I ve run some samples, test on the experiment and all that.What im not sure about is how to report it...Ive referred to journals, most of it was just like stating a very simple results, very straight forward..N im so blur...

He added, "u should look into Yuyu's work, Kak Saliha's work too" which i know what that means! damn, another extra work..huhu

Ive to look into not only anaerobic condition but ANOXIC too..and i feels like i just want to faint!

Oh my, but I have to live with it..that im not good enough for him, not to his expectation...

At the end of the session, he finally talk slowly to me, said that " but overall the experiment conducted is right, just the way u reporting it" is it some kind of calming my heart back? trying to make me feel better??? not sure..but whatever it is, its something that i cannot forget...

That sentences will never fade from my mind...huhu

Cleaning BOD bottles

There are about 35 BOD bottles taken from En Hazli's lab. bring them to the lab to clean it up..wow, quite a lot..need to soak it in the water containing detergents...So i have to soak it at least for two nights..but due to the condition of the bottles (very2 dirty), i have to soak it a little bit longer..

Plagiarism

Well, i really hate people who plagiarize...to those who intended to do so, i feel sorry for u. u cant even do it on your own, its your own work, put ur effort in it..its not that difficult..

Lat two weeks, my comments on facebook were much on the plagiarism issue..Im facing that problem, there is one cute little pretend to be a nice woman, actually plagiarize my work. Oh my, when i knew bout it..BOOM! feels like my heart is going to explode..! so damn mad at her...I gave her my chapter 1 and 2, reason is to help her coz she insist she want it..just as reference. So I gave her, n without even realizing she is copying mine. Someone else who have seen my chapter 1 told me that hers looks like mine...WHAT??? I look at it back and ya..So true...but guess what? I asked her nicely, whether have u copied anything from me? answer....No, i do it all by myself, I write it all, I design and create it all by myself. What a truthful answer rite? The way she reply my email, it looks like she is the victim and im the evil woman, Pretending to be so nice and good in front of everybody. Hate her so much, ive blocked her from fb, i dont know her, i dont wanna know anything about her anymore, she is my new enemy.

Hmmm..well..for quite long time, I didnt have time to cook for myself. Not even my fav food, fried macaroni and popiah..I dont know whats in me actually today coz i have the mood to cook popiah and fried macaroni. I invited Nik along to cook and eat with us..Mom is not around, she is in ipoh. So i can cook without have to worry. U know, she is so fussy when her kitchen is in mess..hahaha. Even i told her i will clean it up later..Back to the story, coming back from lab, buy some groceries things at Giant Sek 7 just near t he back gate of UiTM. Bought a pack of 500g mix vege and kulit popiah..hehehe..

went back home, prepare all the ingredients and start cooking!

Presentation-Conference

yay! time table is out...i know already the date that i should present...oh my, 2 more weeks. n suddenly feeling so scared, damn scared! haha This is my 1st time presenting at conference. Hope everything is gonna b fine...wish me luck guys!

Sushi King

went to Sushi King, Sunway pyramid coz im craving for japanese food this morning, without breakfast and lunch. We went straight away just to eat! Im bringing nik along, this is her 1st time eating at sushi king. Glad that she learn fast. I taught her how to use chopstick, just a few try.. She did it well, hahaha...I just eat the normal bento set, same with nik, sis is eating..not sure la the name...and we take only 2 plates of sushi..hehe enough lah, im full already...

Another grant

haloo, kind of tired lately and dont have much time to update anything...

i am now focusing on the Dana grant. Due date is tomorrow, so ive checked that with prof yesterday, luckily, doesnt require much amendment...
